Thinking through the fog of war

No newsletter today

The general unreliability of all information presents a special problem in war —General Carl Von Clausewitz

Making sense of things in the fog of war is hard, but the alternatives are bleak.

You can go with your preconceived notions or just gulp down whatever you're told by "trusted sources". Is there still such a thing? Was there ever?

There won't be a newsletter proper today as I'm traveling,

I just want to encourage you to think for yourself and face the dilemma of trying to make sense of things when:

  • you KNOW you don't have all the facts
  • every side has incentives to lie and will do so vigorously
  • it's easier then ever to manufacture and spread lies

Talk to you next week.
